Wow What a Day

Our new portable dishwasher. We are super excited as it means we will have more Daddy time in the evenings (dishwashing is his chore). We have not had a diswasher in nearly 3 years. We drove all the way to Pittsburgh today only to be told they don't carry any in stock so we bought one at our local Lowes instead. Isn't that the way it always works. : )

Toby's new musical potty. I bought this tonight cause Toby has been interested and he LOVES any musical so I thought it would be an incentive. I figured he could just sit on it whenever he felt like it and I wouldn't push. Well while I was changing him for bed he decided he wanted to try it. I told him if he peed it would play music, well that was all it took. He got up and down for 15 minutes and then he peed and it played. He was so excited. He kept going on and off for another 15 minutes. i was in the bathroom forever! Even more exciting then the music was getting to help me put it in the toliet and washing his hands. I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings. He is getting SO big!

Mimi sent these beautiful clothes for Liliana. I love them and can't wait to wear them on her. Oh and Tia Jo thanks for the leopard print one. It's adorable! They are definately coming to Guatemala with me in a few weeks.

Thanks to Lianne and Rob for giving us the gift card that bought all of this for Liliana. We were able to get her Puffs, an outfit, two different set of socks, a package of tights, Aveeno baby wash, a package of onesies, two head bands and two head wraps. Tons of fun. I just can't wait!!!

We also went Ikea-ing. Toby loves Ikea and he had to pint out all the stuff that is in his room. We bought a new duvet cover for our bed and an alternative down comforter to put in his duvet cover to help keep him warmer at night. He really enjoyed snuggling up in it. If I can ever get the upstairs cleaned (to the point where I'd be willing to show the rest of the world) I'll show you what they look like.

ORANGE!!!!!!!

I just got off the phone with our director. Our attorney was able to get everything rectified and a new DNA authorization today. DNA will be taken no later than Monday and our agency is going to try to have it rushed. I am looking at traveling at the end of January. I am very excited and VERY relieved. And our attorney is paying for the test to be redone. Who says there are no good attorneys left in Guatemala? Well I'm off to do a happy dance. Thanks for all the support you are sending our way.

Grandma Update: She did very well with her surgery to put in a pacemaker. The doctors believe this will aleviate most of her difficulties at the moment.

Prays are needed for all Guatemalan adoptions today. PGN is no longer approving cases or accepting new ones until all the cases have been registered at the new Central Authority. The problem with this being that Central Authority does not yet exist. The only cases that PGN is releasing are those that were approved before 12/28/07. I still have many friends stuck in this whole mess. PLEASE say a prayer for them and for the children they are matched with.

Ladies and Gentlemen...

we have our first sentence. "Mmmm good Mommy!" I know to most this is no big deal but we have been waiting for this milestone. Toby is not really behind in his speech but is more preoccupied with his large and fine motor skills in the last few months. His vocab has continued to expand, but he has been focusing more on galloping, skipping, throwing, jumping (on the floor and off of things), stomping, using utensils properly, putting together puzzles and other such things to put the words together. But in the last few weeks, he has really began to express himself well since he has pretty much mastered the others enough now. And tonight during dinner while eating yogurt sponsored by Dora he stated the above sentence. We were so proud!

No new Liliana news yet. I promise the moment I know, you will know. And please say a prayer for my Grandma who is very ill in the hospital right now. She could use all the prayers she can get.

ORANGE THOUGHTS

I know that the background is alittle busy, but we need to focus on getting orange AGAIN tomorrow. Our attorney is suppose to go tomorrow and get this whole situation rectified. I am placing it all in God's very capable hands. So let us all pray together that Liliana can get her DNA test and come home to her family.
